Applying for roles

How do I apply?

When you find a vacancy that you wish to apply for, click the ‘Apply now’ button. You’ll be offered the choice of applying using your LinkedIn profile or, alternatively, you can upload your CV and covering letter (optional) to your application.

You’ll receive an email acknowledgement of your application and one of our dedicated team will review your application personally.

We’re proud to be a Disability Confident employer. If you encounter any accessibility challenges during your online application, please let us know by contacting Resource.Coord@edfenergy.com and one of the recruitment team will be in touch.

I wanted to apply for a position I saw but it's not listed anymore - can I still apply?

Vacancies are generally advertised over two weeks. Once the closing date has passed the vacancy will no longer be listed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept late applications.

How can I check the status of my application?

The time taken for reviewing applications will vary depending on the type of role you’re applying for. Our aim is always to respond to applications as soon as possible and you will always be notified as to whether your application was successful or not.

Who can I contact for feedback on my application?

Due to the high number of applications that we receive, we’re unable to provide detailed feedback to candidates who are not successful in reaching interview stage with the hiring manager.

Do you accept speculative applications?

Instead of accepting speculative CVs, we advise you to register your details on our careers website and set up alerts for future opportunities which will be relevant to you.

What do you do with my personal details?

At EDF we respect your privacy and value the trust you put in us when you share your personal details with us.  Click here for more information about what we collect; how we collect and why we collect data about you.

Our selection process

What is our selection process?

Depending on the role you’ve applied for, we’ll ask you to complete different assessments and/or interviews.  From our training programmes to our senior positions, the selection process is tailored to meet specific role and business needs.

As your application progresses, your Recruiter will be on hand to discuss the various stages with you.

How does the interview process work?

Interviews are designed to measure the skills and behaviours required to do a job well. All candidates under consideration for a role are assessed against the same set of competencies ensure fairness.

Our interviews are carried out by our Recruiters, management team and HR colleagues via telephone, video and face-to-face.

What happens at an assessment centre?

If you’re invited to an assessment centre, your Recruiter will let you know what to expect. Our assessment days will usually involve several different exercises for you to demonstrate many different skills.

Our assessment centres might be face-to-face or online, but rest assured that we’ll provide you with all the information you need in advance.

What to wear?

At EDF, most people wear smart casual attire. However, interviewees usually dress in business-wear. A good example of this is a clean and ironed shirt with smart trousers/skirt or suit and smart shoes. This is just as important for a video interview as it is when meeting us face-to-face.

When will I hear the outcome?

We know you'll be keen to hear the outcome of your interview, and we'll aim to update you as soon as we can after the last interview has taken place.

How do I tell you about any adjustments required in respect of a disability?

We’re proud to be a Disability Confident employer. If you encounter any accessibility challenges during your online application, please let us know by contacting Resource.Coord@edfenergy.com and one of the recruitment team will be in touch.

We operate a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities, which means that if you meet the minimum criteria for the opportunity and you share your disability with us, you will automatically progress to the first stage of our selection process.
